Vital Welcomes Canada's Premiers' Commitment to Strengthening Healthcare and Improving Patient Access

Canada's pharmaceutical supply chain stands ready to partner with governments to strengthen health system resilience and ensure Canadians have timely, reliable access to medications.

July 24, 2026 – Vital, Canada's Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Alliance welcomes the healthcare commitments outlined by the Council of the Federation, and looks forward to working with governments to help strengthen Canada's healthcare system and improve patient access to medications.

Governments across jurisdictions recognize the growing pressures facing Canada's healthcare systems, including rising costs, increasing demand for care, and the need to improve access to treatments and medicines while building more sustainable and resilient health systems. Vital supports the Premiers' emphasis on collaboration and believes Canada's pharmaceutical supply chain has an essential role to play in helping achieve these shared objectives.

The Council of the Federation announcement follows Vital's inaugural government relations reception, held earlier this week in Charlottetown during the Council of the Federation meetings. The reception brought together Premiers, government representatives, and leaders from across Canada's pharmaceutical supply chain to discuss opportunities for greater collaboration in strengthening healthcare systems and ensuring Canadians continue to have reliable access to medicines.
